What changed in August
If you only have 30 seconds, here's what you need to know about this chapter.
- MVP: behavior rules, copy, and data contract locked for engineering.
- Technology: 92 items shipped and the first build running on physical iOS and Android devices.
- Legal: legal framework defined and the commercial model for teenage users structured.
- Go-to-market: positioning, identity, landing page, newsletter, community, and social channels now in execution.
- Operations: new daily tracking model to protect the November 8 launch date.
In full, from Izza
We have a face. Our capybara finally has its look, and with it came our logo, our design system and the visual foundation that guides the team through every new version of the app. But the brand is only the visible part. Behind it, guidu already has a solid tech stack, a gamification strategy with its own in-game economy, and a matching algorithm we built ourselves. In a market where being disruptive is the bare minimum, this foundation is what will keep us ahead.
Product. Our prototype is already up and running as a web application. The team uses it to test the mechanics and validate the experience before bringing it into the app. It was our most productive month so far, with 92 items delivered, including infrastructure, authentication and the matching engine, the heart of guidu.
How the game works. For the MVP, our matching algorithm will cover 12 careers, the most competitive ones on SISU. That's where we'll test the mechanics, the series behind each career (with episodes and seasons) and the in-game economy. Along the way, users fill a backpack with items that help them get to know themselves, understand their skills and see which paths are open to them. Then they step into a track where they live a day in that career, and they decide whether to keep going. On the content side, 168 scenes are already scripted for those 12 careers.
Legal. Brazil recently changed the rules for games and apps used by young people, and we've spent a lot of time adapting guidu to them. We closed an important chapter here: we now have enough legal clarity to set the commercial model for teenagers, including the Family Plan, and to map out what must be ready before we go live in the app stores.
Community. We're building more than a product. On social media we're creating a safe space for Brazilians preparing for ENEM (the national university entrance exam), starting at age 16. At that age, the pressure to choose a career comes very early. Our community, which we call Refúgio, is also a place to decompress, with memes and stickers. It's also where young people help us build the app, and that sense of belonging matters a lot at this stage of life. Alongside it, we advanced our positioning, narrative, tone of voice and editorial guidelines, and we launched our first WhatsApp community channel. If you don't follow us yet, we're @guidu.br on Instagram and TikTok. We're in Brazilian Portuguese for now, and we're already preparing English and Spanish versions for next year.
What's next. September is about closing the remaining gaps: we'll finish the gamified experience, submit the MVP to the App Store and Google Play, and start the final stretch before opening on November 8. That's where we stand."
